I. Introduction
The channel is debut coincided mark the 45th anniversary of VOV which began broadcasting on 100MHz FM with 8 hours per day in 1945. VOV3 was the first VOV programming broadcast on FM with superior audio quality. Since the beginning, it has attracted a large number of young listeners. With enjoyable music, varied programmes and high-quality sound, VOV3 strongly develops and takes roots in the social life.
On January 1, 1995, VOV’s General Director decided to increase VOV3’s airtime from 8 hours per day to 24 hours per day at 102.7MHz FM. This news was enthusiastically greeted by listeners, especially soldiers in border and island areas.
To expand its scope and meet an increasing demand for quality entertainment, VOV restructured, added some new programmes and changed its name from Music and News into Music, News and Entertainment Channel.
The Music, News and Entertainment Channel (VOV3) now broadcasts 24 hours per day at 102.7MHz FM.
